Hauptstudium, ich komme!

In today's session, my group killed the vile Irontooth! I changed the whole Kobold cave encounter completely, discarding the fight against the many kobolds outside and inside, instead replacing it with a custom skill challenge for finding their way through the cave. The characters beat the challenge with 8 successes and 3 failures, btw. In the end they kicked in the door to a meeting room and faced Irontooth and a couple of kobolds. The fight was close for our Dragonborn Paladin and our Human Rogue, but in the end they managed to slay Irontooth and successfuly bargained with the Wyrmpriest for free passage out of the cave. Oh, the Wyrmpriest also promised the kobolds wouldn't harm Winterhaven for the next 10 kobold years - whatever that means ;)

Cool moment: The rogue punched Irontooth hard in the face, he went bloodied... and Irontooth's iron tooth got crushed :D Of course, he went mad because of this and almost killed the rogue and the paladin, but hey :D

Ein 2:0 Erfolg gegen Polen. Solider Start in die EM 2008, damit kann man zufrieden sein. Wenn auch ein recht langweiliges Spiel. Aber egal! Gute Ausgangsposition für den Rest der Gruppenphase. Bonuspunkte für Podolski, der sein Geburtsland mit den zwei Toren ganz schön unter Druck setzt ;-)

In Sachen XBOX 360 wenig neues zu vermelden. Ich bin immer noch überaus zufrieden damit, werde fantastisch gut unterhalten! GTA 4 ist einfach der Wahnsinn, ein geiles Spiel. Davon abgesehen habe ich mir für wenig Geld die holländische Version von Bioshock besorgt, dementsprechend also uncut. Spiele es zusammen mit meiner Herzdame und wir haben sehr viel Spaß, sehr atmosphärisch und mit guter Hintergrundgeschichte gesegnet :)

Davon abgesehen gibt es natürlich ein großes Thema in den letzten Tagen: D&D 4! Habe das Gift Set pünktlich am Freitag von meinem FLGS geliefert bekommen. Habe nicht übermäßig viel darin gelesen, aber das Kampfkapitel schon komplett. Ersteindruck: Fantastisch! Eine konsequente Fortführung des mit D&D 3 eingeschlagenen Weges. Die Vereinfachung des Systems ist total gelungen. Einfach zu erlernen, (vermutlich) schnell zu spielen und dennoch mit ausreichend Komplexität versehen. Da habe ich die nächsten Tage und Wochen einiges zu lesen :)

Kleine Randnotiz: Wurde darauf aufmerksam, dass Falconer seit 2006 wieder mit dem ursprünglichen Sänger arbeiten. Habe mir das Album ("Northwind") bestellt und bin sehr zufrieden damit - das ist wieder das Falconer, welches ich damals so überzeugend fand!

PS: Werde die Tage einiges an Rollenspielmaterial bei eBay einstellen. Platz- und Geldgründe. Davon abgesehen sorgt das natürlich vor allen Dingen für Ordnung. ;)

Heute gibt es wieder neues von mir selber.
Ich war mit einem Kumpel gerade im Kino, natürlich im neuen Indy Streifen. Die Meinungen gingen ja stark auseinander, aber die große Mehrheit zeigte sich (so habe ich es jedenfalls empfunden) als nur mäßig begeistert. Ich habe also dementsprechend nur geringe Erwartungen an den Film gehegt... oh man, die wurden aber sowas von übertroffen! :)
Witzige Dialoge, spaßige Actionszenen, eine tolle Story - ich fand' ihn allererste Sahne, werde ihn mir auf jeden Fall auf DVD kaufen, sobald es geht. Mein Fazit: Ein echter Indiana Jones!

I'm jumping at the opportunity to gab a little about yesterday evening's perfect event. Mr. Ironhold Primer and I, his beloved missus, planned to watch "The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring" together the first time. Of course we both had seen this movie before, but in my case the last time was 5 years ago (!!), and I had just seen it twice in my life. Nevertheless it had great impact on me back then, and my shoreless love for elves just increased at that time. Looking forward to it that much, last night had to be very atmospheric to celebrate the special feeling of myth and magic.
We went to a big local superstore and bought some food. First we just wanted to satisfy hunger, but then we started to buy fitting things to emphasise the vibe. We bought baps because we chose to have a cold meal while watching on the bed. As a filling we bought Danish cream cheese with chives, because the use of herbs in our meal seemed so mediaeval. In addition to that, we picked Esrom, that's a cheese traditionally made in a friary in Denmark according to an old recipe. As a snack while watching this long movie (the extended edition lasts 219 minutes, wow) we had small air-dried salamis with walnuts (how ethnic, jeez) and some kind of salted nibbles. We drank some cold herbal tea made of peppermint and spring herbs, my lovey had a cellar beer from a brewery named "Mönchshof" an I myself a bottle of herbal lemonade. Just like a kind of elvish potion, only the mystic vial was missing.
Equipped with this true fantasy-lover food stuff we enjoyed a great time together cuddled up to each other, eating, chatting and being engrossed by the amazing movie. I just loved it! Although I'm always so afraid of these nauseous orcs, and all the scary scenes... I can't wait to see "The Two Towers" as extended edition. Perhaps already this week, or the next weekend. I'm looking forward to it. Like the plot is intensifying in the movie, the enchantment grows, too.

Gestern Abend waren meine Freundin und ich im Kino. Love Vegas mit Cameron Diaz und Ashton Kutcher.
Urteil: Die ersten ca. 15 Minuten (aka der gesamte Las Vegas Part) uninteressant, unsymphatisch und lahm. Zugegebenermaßen eine sehr subjektive Meinung, aber ich kann mit dem dargestellten Lebenswandel wenig anfangen. Danach zieht der Film aber deutlich an und ist streckenweise wirklich sehr witzig. Dabei habe ich eher bei Ashton Kutchers Gags gelacht, während meine Freundin eher bei den Aktionen von Cameron Diaz amüsiert war. Alles in allem sehr unterhaltsam, wenn man den Vegas Part überstanden hat. ;)

Still having a blast with the 360. I think it's quite cool how many great xbox-exclusive titles are coming in the future (and it's also funny to see how many former-ps3-exclusive titles make it to the xbox after all :D ).
My current To-Buy list:

Gears of War inzwischen auf "lässig" durchgespielt. Heute angefangen, das Spiel auf "Hardcore" zu spielen. 8)
Außerdem ein wenig Oblivion gespielt und auch Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (13 EUR bei play.com). XBOX360... genial Konsole! Bin inzwischen wohl tatsächlich zu 100% ein Konsolero geworden ;)
Muss dann beizeiten auch mal online spielen, noch habe ich ja Gold ;)

Bin nun inzwischen stolzer Besitzer einer XBOX 360 Elite. Gears of War, FEAR und Oblivion (Spiel des Jahres) besitze ich nun.

FEAR eher enttäuschend, das Spiel möchte toller Ego-Shooter und Gruselshocker zugleich sein, schafft beides aber nur eher mittelmäßig. Wahrscheinlich sind wir da nach den unglaublich gruseligen Project Zero Spielen einfach anderes gewohnt... der Grusel bei dem Spiel "begeistert" nicht wirklich. Außerdem sind die Shooter-Passagen sehr langatmig.

Oblivion und Gears of War unterhalten beide aber genial gut! Bei erstem begeistert natürlich die riesige Spielwelt und die enorme Freiheit, die man genießt... mein Kampfmagier macht sich dann mal auf, der Magiergilde beizutreten. :)
Gears of War sieht einfach umwerfend aus und spielt sich auch so! Wobei ich es zugegebenermaßen recht schwierig finde. Aber es für mich natürlich einfach ein riesiges Atmosphäre-Plus, wenn die NSC ständig meinen Namen rufen, um mich auf Dinge hinzuweisen ;) Cool!

Heute habe ich mich dann auch mal bei XBOX Live angemeldet und Bauklötze gestaunt darüber, wie umfangreich und spaßig die Funktionen sind. Alleine die Tatsache, das man sich Demos ziehen kann... genial!
Wir haben dann vorhin mal die BioShock Demo ausprobiert... oh. mein. Gott. Der reine Wahnwitz! :)

Ich spiele nun seit einiger Zeit sehr viel XBOX. Habe die Konsole bei eBay für wenig Geld erhalten und sie hat sich schon mehr als rentiert. Wirklich sehr spaßig, hat mich total überzeugt! Und es gibt ja so viele gute Spiele... die meisten, die ich haben wollte, habe ich inzwischen schon für Peanuts erworben :)
Macht einfach Spaß, endlich mal wieder so richtig entspannt dazusitzen und loszuspielen. Mein PC macht mir ja seit Jahren Probleme und aktuellere Spiele brauchte ich gar nicht erst ausprobieren. Schon so manches XBOX Spiel ist auf meiner Kiste einfach nicht mehr vernünftig und ruckelfrei zu spielen... kann also so einiges nachholen :)
Und zum Geburtstag bekomme ich sehr hoffentlich dann die XBOX 360 geschenkt... das wird ein Spaß! Die Preissenkung war einfach zu gut, um sie auszuschlagen *cool*
Bin auf jeden Fall wieder im Kreise der Gamer angekommen, nachdem jahrelanger Hardware-Frust mich extrem davon abgebracht hatte. Nur halt in Zukunft sehr stark im Konsolenbereich und nicht mehr am PC. Ist einfach auch wirtschaftlicher, als ständig den PC auf dem Stande der Technik zu halten. ;)
Meine Freundin und ich sind auf jeden Fall gut beschäftigt damit, wenn wir bei mir Zeit verbringen :)

finally a new entry. Yesterday I've written the first exercise of five. If everything works out as I plan I'll have my intermediate diploma very soon.

Between this, the death of my father, and the serious trouble at "home", I come to the conclusion I couldn't have made it without the help from my beautiful, lovely girlfriend. She kept me going when I was down. She made me laugh when I wanted to cry.
My dear, I love you so much, you're my life. I just want let the world know lucky I count myself for having you!!

Well... I won't make the fault (again) and promise regular postings, but maybe I'll post again soon.

Yesterday, my book arrived... and it looks really, really great! Nice Layout, cool cover, I almost instantly fell in love with the square format. :)

I've only skimmed through it, but I couldn't help and had to roll up a character, just trying out how easy it is to find everything when you've not already read the book. It worked quite nice, took me only 15 minutes or so for the rough details, but I spend more time with because I read this and that on the way because it interested me. :)

I rolled 6x 4d6, drop lowest, in order and, looking what I've got, designed a jedi with a somehow diplomatic focus (although I forgot to take the Persuasion skill *blushes*)

Amazon.de shipped the Star Wars Saga RPG on 5th of june. My gaming store said the same thing. Unfortunately, my gaming store has done nothing like that. They delayed it to 6th of june. Today, they delayed it to 7th of june. That's quite frustrating...
